Health
Introduction

TEU fights for the rights of the transgender women and transgender sex workers in Uganda.

Who

TEU started in 2011 after noticing that transgender women’s issues were being neglected by the Ugandan lesbian, gay and bi (LGB) movement and that transgender sex workers were being ignored by the commercial sex work movement in Uganda.

Vision

TEU’s vision is an Ugandan society that understands and accepts different gender expressions and works to promote human rights, economic empowerment, and equal access to health services for transgender women and transgender sex workers.

TEU’s aims and objectives

The strategic directions of TEU:

  • Educate Ugandan society about transgender issues.
  • Promote access to health care services
  • Promote safer sex practices for transgender women
