Introduction

AFDA works to achieve social equality and promote a society free of violence and gender stereotypes.

Who

AFDA is a charity led by lesbians and non-binary people. They help to eliminate the barriers that exist to achieve equality through advocacy, empowerment and social impact actions.

Vision

Asociación Familias Diversas de Argentina (AFDA) imagine’s a world in which full equality and the same opportunities are guaranteed for all. They want a society without discrimination, with gender equality and social justice.

AFDA’s aims and objectives

AFDA manages “Pride House”, the first LGBTIQA + community centre in the City of Buenos Aires in Argentina.

They received recognition from the National Women’s Institute of Argentina for their work with diverse and non-binary children. They also received recognition from the Ministry of Education of the City of Buenos Aires for their commitment and work in disseminating and guaranteeing comprehensive sex education.

They have also received distinctions from the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires for their work on advising TV programs and filmmakers for increasing and improving positive representations of family diversity and LGBTIQA + characters.
